My Story
I grew up in Nebraska, and not particularly religious. In my early 20's I found that there was a name for my worldview and it was Secular Humanism. In my beginnings as a humanist activist I found that there wasn't a dedicated person in my area to see to the needs of Atheists, Agnostics, Humanists, Skeptics, and Brights when it came to weddings and life celebrations. In 2006 I became a Humanist Celebrant through the American Humanist Association's Humanist Society and in between organizing regional Humanist conferences and going on speaking tours, I also served on the board on the Humanist Society, and literally helped write the book on Humanist ceremonies.

Now in my 40's as a titled "Senior Celebrant," I look back on decades of service to non-religious and interfaith couples and community. I have officiated dozens of life celebrations and have performed over 300 wedding ceremonies for our community (across the U.S. and in Mexico). It has been a distinct honor to have been available to assist in facilitating the most important moments of the lives of our people.
